Aviva and Grief Encounter have worked closely together, as strategic partners, since 2014 with a rolling three-year partnership to provide training, information and support. Aviva employees also support with fundraising.
“I am incredibly proud of Aviva’s partnership with Grief Encounter. Bereavement is devastating at any age but when a child loses a loved one it is important that they get expert support to deal with the host of challenges this brings day to day, or those milestone moments like birthdays and Christmas. When our claims teams identify that a child has lost a close family member, we can signpost to the breadth of services Grief Encounter offer, providing bespoke, tailored support to children and families at a hugely difficult time.”

“My son was facing depression and he decided to end his life. He texted me in the afternoon, I was out, the words he said is ‘mum I am ending my life, I am so sorry, I am just so sorry’. I felt that I needed something for myself and my daughter and that is where Grief Encounter stepped in. My daughter made friends with other grief children and they understand what she’s actually going through.”
