Grief Encounter is thrilled to be working with Sellebrity Soccer to host the charity’s 20th Anniversary Celebrity Football Match on May 5th, 2024, at Watford’s home ground, Vicarage Road. Kick off will be at 3pm!
The event will be in aid of Grief Encounter, a leading UK charity supporting bereaved children, young people, and their families after the death of a parent, sibling, or someone close. This star-studded fundraiser promises an unforgettable day for a very worthy cause, whilst celebrating two decades of helping children and young people and giving hope and healing to countless families.
Confirmed to take to the pitch so far is YouTube stars Chunkz and Sharky, alongside well-known faces Dean Gaffney, Owen Warner, Louis Matthews, Ricky Groves, and Dan Osborne, plus Watford legend, Lloyd Doyley; and ITV’s Love Island favourites, Ouzy See, Adam Maxted, and Billy Brown. Tickets will sell at £12 each, or you can get your hands on one of only 50 Meet & Greet VIP tickets for £40.
The event, hosted by Sellebrity Soccer, brings together a host of celebrities and former footballing legends for a thrilling display of skill and sportsmanship, all while raising vital funds and awareness for Grief Encounter’s vital services. Without professional bereavement support, children and young people facing grief can go on to experience behavioural, academic, and financial issues – often grappling with isolation, poor school attendance, mental health issues, early unemployment, and increased risk of death by despair.

Previous Sellebrity Football Matches have seen a stellar line-up of celebrity participants and football legends take to the pitch and this year’s match promises to be no exception, with a full line-up of talent set to be announced in the coming weeks.
Tickets for the Sellebrity Football Match at Watford FC’s Vicarage Road Stadium on May 5th, 2024 go on sale today, 6th April, with all proceeds going directly to Grief Encounter.
