community groups

Help us reach more bereaved children and their families by being a Grief Encounter fundraiser in your local community. Whether you already have an idea or don’t know where to start, we’re here to help you every step of the way. Mobilise your community to fundraise and help raise awareness locally. Here are just a few ideas.

Introduce us to schools, sports clubs, faith groups etc

  • Set up a fundraising group or committee
  • Organise an event with friends, family, neighbours
  • Raise awareness with our leaflets, buckets, banners etc
  • Nominate us as your chosen charity at your supermarket, golf club etc
  • Fundraise for us at annual community events

Raising money or volunteering at an event in your local community is a fantastic way to help Grief Encounter support even more bereaved children and their families, whilst also making new friends.

Tell us about your community group and fundraising ideas.

Grief Encounter case-study-sarah

“My wife died of cancer in 2017, my daughter Sarah, aged 7 at the time, watched her suffer and then disappear from our lives, it wasn’t easy. Grief Encounter have been amazing, building up her confidence and helping her to find a way to live with her grief, while bringing back our smiley little girl again.”
