On the 14th October, BBC Radio Norfolk’s Stephen Bumfrey caught up with Tim Williams, our legendary fundraiser who is currently taking 6 months out to trek the whole UK coast, litter picking as he goes, in aid of Grief Encounter.

So far, Tim has raised an incredible £5614 of his £7000 target. In September alone, he walked over 1,000,000 steps to hit his fundraising target for us. This is why: “It was Thursday morning, I woke up and looked at the clock, it was 8.11am. This was strange as we normally left for school by 8am, we had overslept. I jumped out of bed, ran into my parents’ room where my dad was sleeping by himself. I tried shaking him playfully, I laughed as I hit him over the head with a pillow. I felt sheer terror as I noticed he wasn’t breathing. He had died in his sleep. I was 12 years old at the time. Over 20 years on, I still get reminded of that day when I see 8.11am on a clock.”

Here at Grief Encounter, we are very so proud of his tremendous efforts, and love following his journey across the UK.
