Grief Encounter, one of the UK’s leading child bereavement charities, has announced Harold Gittelmon as its new Chair of Trustees.
Harold Gittelmon, a venture capitalist and serial investor, was CEO of large duty free retailer for thirteen years until stepping up to chairman last year. He has taken over the role as Chair of Trustees, effective immediately, from Jeremy Tobias-Tarsh.
Richard Fogelman, CEO Grief Encounter, said: ‘This is a hugely positive and exciting appointment for the charity. Harold brings with him a wealth of charity experience to his new role as Chair of Trustees, at a time when Grief Encounter is expanding its output from our core services into community based projects. The first of these is working with The Good Grief Trust and Jake Walker Music to provide a summer camp of creative and emotional support for those directly affected by the Grenfell Tower tragedy. We are thrilled that Harold will be taking on this role, using his knowledge of the business and charity world with which to lead our Board.”
