Housebuilder Wainhomes has made a generous donation of £8,000 after hosting their Severn Valley Charity Golf Day in aid of Grief Encounter South West.

Wainhomes has supported Grief Encounter for the past three years, and chose it to be the beneficiary of its annual Severn Valley region golf day held at Kendleshire Golf Club in Coalpit Heath.

Carl Haley, managing director of Wainhomes Severn Valley, said: “Grief Encounter is a charity we hold close to our hearts and we know what great work they do to help people across the Bristol region. I would like to say a big thank you to everyone who helped us raise this fantastic amount and your support will make a real difference to the lives of many young people in our area.”

Richard Fogelman, CEO Grief Encounter, said: “We are so thrilled that Wainhomes chose to support Grief Encounter South West at their recent Golf Day. Their donation will help fund the extremely important bereavement services we are offering at this time. Demand is ever increasing as so many families experience the unimaginable, so this is a much welcome boost at such an uncertain time for charities.”

Golfers from more than 20 construction industry related companies took part in the Wainhomes Golf Day with Galtec Groundworks running out as winners.

Wainhomes is currently building new homes across Bristol, Gloucestershire and Wilshire and will soon be launching two new developments of family homes at Mulgrove Farm Village in Bristol and Fallow Fields in Twigworth.
